The Association of International Bankers “IBA” (formerly Association of International Bankers in the Netherlands Antilles “IBNA”) was founded on April 4, 1980 with the main purpose to look after the interests of the international banking sector.
Members of IBNA are banks and affiliate offices of banks conducting international banking business in Curaçao and St. Maarten which are in possession of a valid banking license issued by Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten, in its capacity of the supervisory body for credit and banking institutions operating in Curaçao and St. Maarten.
By law IBA was appointed as the representative organization for the International Banking Sector in virtue of Part 1: Section 1: Article 1: Subsection E of the National Ordinance on the Supervision of the Bank- and Credit Institutions of 1994; PB 1994 No.4.
